Whether it is 1:1 or a small group setting you would prefer - becoming informed and prepared antenatally for your breastfeeding journey is something Sophie is passionate about and soon, fun, down to earth, easy to understand, informative classes will be available!
These classes will cover how to prepare for breastfeeding your baby, with practicing optimal positioning and attachment of yourself and your baby when its time for those first feeds (how exciting!). Also covered will be information on how lactation works and understanding what is happening for your breasts, milk supply and your baby in those first few days and weeks post birth, so that when you have your precious baby in your arms, rather than feeling overwhelmed, full of questions and concerns regarding feeding, sleeping, nappies, supply, latching and trying to learn the ropes, you're one step ahead of the game and full of knowledge and comfortability in holding and feeding your baby.
Classes commencing soon - if you're interesting in joining for some practical, informative, fun education without the boring stuff, then watch this space!
1:1 sessions will be an option to really personalise the education to your needs and breastfeeding goals, or, get some friends, a mums groups, or a small group together and we can do a group session!
Why learn the skills and knowledge of breastfeeding once you have your baby in your arms when you can do so before your baby is born?
Booking in for an antenatal breastfeeding session with Sophie will equip you with the knowledge, tools and confidence to kick start your breastfeeding journey before it has begun.
Antenatal preparation and education can assist you in working through any previous breastfeeding difficulties, current concerns or questions and build your knowledge and confidence in breastfeeding so that once you have your baby in your arms on your birthing day, you are already knowledgeable, confident and ready to embark on your breastfeeding journey with your baby.
If you are having any breastfeeding or lactation difficulties with your baby, no matter their age, then a postnatal breastfeeding support session is for you.
Throughout the consultation, through a detailed assessment of both mother and baby and your breastfeeding history, Sophie will assess the reason for your visit and help provide a detailed feeding plan moving forward, specifically tailored to you and your baby.
Sophie's plan is that you leave the 90min session feeling as though we have worked through your difficulties, provided tools and strategies to move forward, and a clear and concise plan to follow to improve your breastfeeding or lactation concerns.
This service includes a follow up email 2-3 days post the consultation to make sure you are feeling positive and the plan in place is satisfactory for you.
If another catch up is required after our initial consultation, a follow up consultation is an opportunity to evaluate and assess how the current plan is going and through a full assessment of both mother and baby, assess any changes that need to be made and continue to implement strategies and plans to improve your breastfeeding and lactation journey.
